His Royal Majesty King Andrew is temporarily unable to fulfil his royal duties and has left Viceroy Netzer as Regent to lead the Kingdom of Agoga in his place. From 13 February until 24 May of this year, the monarch will be attending the fire academy near the royal residence. His enrolment in the fire academy has been planned, and it will not affect the operations of Agoga. "We've been discussing the two months that His Royal Majesty will spend in the fire academy for at least the last two or three months," the Viceroy said, "it won't change how anything is done. We are still involved in our local communities, the same as we always have been, and we will still continue in our mission to make the world better one day at a time." When asked why King Andrew was at the fire academy, the Viceroy said that it was "absolutely" related to the mission of Agoga. "Listen, it's clear how the fire academy is connected (to the Agogan mission)," His Excellency said, "King Andrew has been working as a paramedic for years since before I met him nearly a decade ago. Graduating from the fire academy will allow him to be able to work as an emergency medical technician with any fire department in the US, which is very Agogan of him if I can get away with saying that. Our mission is to make the world better, and I can't think of a better way to do that than by making a difference as an EMT. Saving lives, caring for the injured, I'd say that fits the Agogan mission perfectly." The Viceroy confirmed that he and the king have been working on the agenda for the upcoming year in anticipation of King Andrew's absence. Since Sovereign's Day, the anniversary of the founding of Agoga on 11 May, is during the time that King Andrew will be at the fire academy, it was important to have the details for the coming year ironed out before the fire academy began. The Viceroy said that the agenda for the coming year would be formally delivered to Agoga by King Andrew himself. "Agogan law," the Viceroy said, "requires the Crown to give an annual update on the state of the kingdom and present the agenda for the coming year to the King's Table. In the event that the king isn't able to do that personally, the obligation falls on me as the Viceroy to do so. With this in mind, King Andrew told me earlier today that he plans to record a video of his first State of the Realm address to fulfil his obligation. We can all expect to see the State of the Realm address on 12 May, I won't spoil the speech for you, but I will say that we've done some great things over the last year and there are even greater things to come in the next year." When we asked His Excellency if he prefers to be called "Viceroy" or "Regent" while acting as Regent, he laughed and said, "Viceroy is fine, it's only two months, it's not like it's a long-term thing". According to Article 3 of the Agogan Constitution, the Viceroy is obligated to fulfil royal duties if the Crown is unable to for any reason. The Viceroy and King Andrew will have limited contact during the time that His Royal Majesty is at the academy, and King Andrew will not have the time he needs to dedicate to Agogan business while at the academy. We wish King Andrew the best of luck at the fire academy.
