​The Micronationalist Union (MU) is an intermicronational organisation for micronations with a purpose other than just for fun. We call micronations that fit into this category "purpose-driven micronations" because they have a mission or set of goals that they hope to accomplish. Our objective is to work together to help member states succeed in their mission and goals. We want to help our member states grow in quantity and quality. We want to make an impact in the world, even if that means only in the regions of our member states. Whether your micronation has the goal of engaging in agriculture to help your citizens have enough food to eat, or your micronation has more ambitious goals geared towards environmental or conservation efforts, you're a perfect fit for the MU.

There are many intermicronational organisations out there, and most dissolve shortly after being founded, there are probably even other organisations that have the same goals in mind that we do. So what makes us different? We recognise that each micronation is different, we each have different governing styles and varying goals. Frankly, nobody wants a foreign body interfering in the way that our micronational projects function or imposing their will on us. The MU simply lets each member state develop the way they want to without intervention. We like the diversity of our member states and we only want to help them grow into everything they want to be. We help member states gain recognition, allies, and trade partners, as well as help our member states reach their goals. There will never be a time when the MU imposes its will on a member state through resolutions, that would disrupt the culture of our member states in a way that would only create animosity.
